Cuvée Laïs
 |
 |
| |
Laïs the cow |
Maybe its strange to name a wine with the name of a cow. Not so twisted when one knows Lais, a Jersey in Catalonia. It sums up quite well the wine. There is all the freshness and vivacity of the North, married to the richness of the Mediterranean.
Maccabeu, White and Grey Grenache on shale hillsides, with their variety of exposures, constitute this collection.
The fermentation and ageing takes place, for eight to ten months, in new barrels for one or two wines. One part is even made in “purcheon” of 600 litres. Always in the spirit of respect for the grape, the wood knows how to discrectly allow the very fresh flowery notes to speak. Therefore you can drink this wine in its early youth for the vivacity of aromas and taste in the mouth or wait to be surprised by a very mineral evolution.

La D18
|

D18 for ever |
|
|
Canigou from the D18 |
Bugarach in the mist from the D18 |
When you have borrowed the name of this road between Calce and Le Col de la Dona, you tell yourself that it works well, it’s a good name for a cuvée. Above all for one which is uniquely based on a selection of the best slopes of White and Grey Grenache.
These vines brought us such great satisfaction in 2001 that there grew the desire to explore all their richness and their complexity to make a great white wine. To grow and nurture this wine in wooden vats for twelve to sixteen months, appeared to us the minimum we could do to bring out the density of these beautiful grapes.

Mon P’tit Pithon
Mon P’tit Pithon 2007
It is our great satisfaction to make this young cuvee of Grenache Noir.
Look for the fruits, the body and the pleasure. A great wine to drink with friends during a convivial meal. The simple pleasures in life : eating, drinking and laughing can be resumed with this P’tit Pithon.
La Coulée
 |

“Coulée” vines |
The search for fruit could sum up this blend of Black Grenache, Carignan and Syrah. Everything unfolds in this philosophy of selecting the youngest vines in the concave areas of the hillside, moderate extraction and short ageing in concrete tanks (“beton”).
So this wine gives immediate pleasure, full of fruits and elegance. It can be appreciated young or in three to five years. It’s a great mouthful.

Saturne
 |

Barrrels of saturne |
Saturne was the surname of a republican spaniard who settled in Estagel and planted the initial vines which constitute this cuvée. Produced from Black Grenache and Carignan, planted directly on the rock on the side of the shale slopes almost 60 years ago. A touch of Syrah enlivens this very local base. A very special attention is given to these vines in which you can catch a glimpse of the Mediterranean; the foothills of the Pyrenees and the Corbières.
This wine is washied for three to four weeks and then aged in barrels or large casks for 4 to 18 months according to the vintage. This allows all the richness and the complexity of these concentrated grapes to come out. But the concentration is not our only worry. We need to know how to capture the volume and the freshness and achieve a balance which satisfies us.

Le Pilou
A cuvée composed exclusively of our king vine... the Carignan. These 100 years old vines on the calcium area and 60 year old on the shale, are tended with love to extract the very best grapes, that’s the stuff!
We wish by this selection to show the expression of a vine plant which, although noble, is in the process of coming out from the rights of appellation.
A fermentation of 18 months in “demi-muids” allows us to keep the velvety freshness and the finess of this wine’.
